Enable Trim on macOS 10.16 Big Sur using Trim Enabler

Trim Enabler now supports macOS Big Sur.

We’re happy to report that both Sensei and Trim Enabler will be capable of enabling Trim on macOS 10.16 Big Sur.

We’ve also streamlined the process of enabling Trim. Previously, you had to go through tedious extra steps when enabling Trim. When using the latest versions of Sensei or Trim Enabler, this is no longer needed. Simply flip the switch and reboot.

Another new feature for users who are multi-booting multiple installs/disks of macOS is that Trim will now be applied system-wide for all installs of macOS Catalina or later. You no longer need to enable Trim for every installation.

Lastly, the new Trim Enabler is optimized for boot speed. In particular, the first reboot after enabling Trim should now be much faster than with the old method.

If you have enabled Trim with a previous version, you will notice that Trim is listed as Disabled after updating to this new version. Simply flip the switch to Enable Trim, and the app will perform a migration to our latest Trim Enabler.

This will be the last version of macOS supported by Trim Enabler 4. For continued support, make sure you upgrade to our flagship app, Sensei.
