Starting Backdrop on login

You can configure Backdrop to automatically start when you log in to your Mac, ensuring your animated wallpapers are always ready without manual intervention.

Enabling Auto-Start

To set up Backdrop to launch automatically on login:

  1. Look for the drop icon in your Mac's menu bar (top-right area)
  2. Click on the drop icon to open the menu bar menu
  3. Find the "Start on Login" option in the dropdown menu
  4. Toggle "Start on Login" to enable automatic startup

What This Does

When "Start on Login" is enabled:

  • Backdrop will automatically launch when you log in to your Mac
  • Your wallpapers will start playing immediately after login
  • Lock Screen animations (if enabled) will transition seamlessly into a desktop animation
  • You won't need to manually open Backdrop each time you restart your Mac

Managing Auto-Start

You can disable auto-start at any time by:

  • Clicking the menu bar drop icon again
  • Toggling off "Start on Login"
